The proposed Afulilo Power Scheme in Western Samoa involves taking water from the headwaters of the Fagatoloa River and passing it through a 4 MW power station to discharge into FagaJoa Bay. The proposed storage in the Afulilo basin offers the only prospect for significant hydro-electric power development in Western Samoa.
